Overview

HZD1600 is a 125°C halogen-free flame-retardant heat-shrink masterbatch developed for increasingly strict environmental regulations. It is colorable, built on a polyolefin base with inorganic flame retardants, antioxidants and lubricants, melt-mixed and pelletized. Tubes produced from it meet UL 224 and serve cable connection, pipe connection, component insulation and wire bundling.

In a fire the material releases very little smoke, no halogen acid and low-toxicity fumes (toxicity index 2.2 typical), which makes it the choice for tubing used in metros, data centers and other enclosed public spaces.

Packaging & Storage

Supplied in aluminum-plastic bags with kraft paper lining, 25 kg net per bag. Store in a dry, well-ventilated warehouse.

Processing recommendations

  1. 01Recommended equipment: φ45–150 single-screw extruder, L/D ≥ 20, screen pack 20/80/20 mesh
  2. 02A dedicated halogen-free screw with compression ratio below 2.5 improves output and surface quality
  3. 03Temperature profile: feed 110°C / transport 125°C / melting 140°C / die 140–150°C — trim die temperature to tube surface finish
  4. 04Irradiation dose: 50–80 kGy (5–8 Mrad)
