Equipment scope — Cable production equipment

What the Line Does

A cable extrusion line applies insulation or jacketing polymer around a conductor or cable core in one continuous pass: pay-off releases the conductor under controlled tension, a preheater conditions it for adhesion, the extruder and crosshead coat it with melt, multi-stage cooling troughs set the wall, and a spark tester, diameter gauge, capstan and dual take-up close the loop with full-line speed synchronization.

Line Types We Configure

We match line configurations to the product: high-speed building wire and electronic wire lines, silicone rubber lines with hot-air vulcanizing ovens, high-temperature fluoropolymer lines, and physical foaming lines for coaxial and data cable. Each quotation covers the extruder size, crosshead, cooling length, electrical controls and acceptance criteria.

Material Pairing

Because LSZH supplies both the compounds and the machinery, line proposals are validated against the actual material — screw compression ratio, temperature profile and irradiation route are checked against the compound TDS before the line is quoted.

Complete line architecture

From conductor pay-off to finished reel

The line is configured as one synchronized production system. Cable structure, compound behavior, finished dimensions and output target determine the equipment sequence, screw and crosshead, cooling length, inspection units and reel handling.

Configured by cable type

Four process families, one proposal workflow

01

Building & Electronic Wire

PVC, PE, LSZH/HFFR and XLPE/XLPO insulation or jacketing lines configured around conductor range and finished diameter.

02

Automotive Wire

Fine-conductor and thin-wall production with concentricity, surface quality and inline inspection built into acceptance planning.

03

Silicone Rubber Cable

Dedicated extrusion, crosshead and hot-air vulcanizing sections matched to the silicone cable construction.

04

Fluoropolymer & Communication Cable

High-temperature FEP/ETFE lines and physical foaming lines configured for the intended communication-cable process.

Multi-stage cooling trough on a wire extrusion line
Cooling sections are sized around cable diameter, compound and target speed.
Inline spark testing stage on a wire extrusion line
Spark and diameter inspection can close the quality loop before take-up.

Core equipment modules

Each stage is sized as part of one line

The proposal connects material preparation, process control and finished-reel handling to the same cable construction, speed target and acceptance criteria.

Material Drying & Feeding

Module 01

Material Drying & Feeding

Hopper drying, vacuum conveying and feed control are matched to resin behavior and the required process window.

Line Control & Synchronization

Module 02

Line Control & Synchronization

Drive, temperature and line-speed controls coordinate the extruder, cooling, inspection, haul-off and reel handling.

Finished Reel Handling

Module 03

Finished Reel Handling

Take-up torque, reel dimensions and changeover method are configured around the finished cable and output target.
